Events
Well, we have decided in our infinite wisdom to dedicate this page to an event which will become a regular annual occourance on the club's calander. Each year at the Clubs and Societies awards, the club presents its own little award to a member who has displayed talents in the field of safety throughout their time in the club.
The award is aptly named after a safety officer who bravely dug a 2 mile tunnel simply so that members could safely manouver their way to Ballymun, thus avoiding deadly sniper fire from the towering flats above. They swarmed there in search of the sustinence they craved in their weekly swim, and were forever grateful to their safety leader, who himself took 3 bullets to the groin to help them on their way.
The Tomas Bacon Perpetual Trophy will be conferred each year to someone who strives for this kind of dedication, only after they have passed the final test of rescuing said trophy in a re-inactment of the battle of Clontarf (Castle).
